These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, booking forms, messaging programs, and services provided by ⟪Next Chapter Charleston, LLC⟫ (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By requesting an estimate, scheduling service, signing a work authorization, or otherwise engaging with us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1) Scope of Services
We provide handyman, make-ready, and light renovation services for residential and investment properties in the Charleston, SC area. Specific tasks, exclusions, and assumptions will be listed on your estimate or work order. We reserve the right to decline services beyond our licensing, insurance, or safety limits.
- Exclusions: structural work, major plumbing/HVAC/electrical requiring licensed trade permits, hazardous material removal, or tasks restricted by law.
- Permits: If a permit is required, we will advise you. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Client is responsible for obtaining permits and related fees.
2) Estimates, Pricing & Changes
Written estimates are good-faith, time-boxed projections based on information available at the time. Actual cost may vary due to hidden conditions, scope clarifications, material selections, or Client requests.
- Time & Materials: Some work may be billed on a T&M basis at our current rates.
- Change Orders: Any scope change will be documented and must be approved prior to execution.
- Expired Quotes: Quotes typically expire after 30 days unless renewed in writing.
3) Site Access & Conditions
Client agrees to provide safe, uninterrupted access to the work area (including utilities) and to disclose any known hazards. We may stop work if we encounter unsafe or unexpected conditions (e.g., mold, asbestos, faulty wiring) until those conditions are corrected.
4) Materials, Warranties & Limits
- Materials: Unless stated otherwise, we may source standard materials comparable to quality specified. Client-provided materials must be on site and fit for purpose.
- Workmanship Warranty: We warrant our workmanship for 90 days from completion. Manufacturer warranties apply to products we supply.
- Exclusions: normal wear, misuse, neglect, pre-existing damage, acts of nature, or work altered by others.
5) Scheduling, Cancellations & No-Shows
- Appointments: We strive to arrive within the scheduled window; delays may occur due to traffic, parts, or prior jobs.
- Client Cancellations: Please provide at least 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel. Late cancellations or no-access may incur a minimum service fee.
- Weather/Delays: For exterior or weather-sensitive work, we may reschedule for safety/quality.
6) Payments & Invoices
- Due: Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise specified in writing.
- Deposit: Larger projects may require a deposit to secure materials and scheduling.
- Methods: We accept standard electronic or check payments. Returned payments may incur bank fees.
- Late Balances: Invoices not paid when due may accrue late charges as allowed by law.
7) Photos, Testimonials & Marketing
We may capture before/after photos of our work for documentation, quality control, and marketing. We will not publish identifiable personal information without consent. If you prefer that photos of your property not be used in marketing, please notify us in writing prior to project completion.
8) SMS/MMS Messaging Terms
Program & Frequency
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Not all carriers or devices are supported; delivery may vary by carrier (e.g., AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile).
Opt-Out & Help
- Text STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT to stop receiving messages.
- Text HELP for help related to our texting program.
After you text STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT, you will receive one final message to confirm your opt-out. We are not liable for undelivered or delayed messages.
9) Privacy & Data
We respect your privacy and handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Do not share payment details by SMS or email unless we request via a secure method.
10) Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to our services. Our aggregate liability shall be limited to the total amount actually paid by Client for the specific services giving rise to the claim.
11) Indemnification
Client agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of Client’s breach of these Terms or misuse of the services.
12) Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state courts located in Charleston County, South Carolina.
